No earthly idea, but I DID have to comment on how utterly adorable they are! Ooooh just makes you want to snuggle their downy little bitty selves!!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

My guess is that they're either male or female, but that's just a guess mind you. ;-)

They are precious! I can't wait to get my eggs - I won 5 goose eggs on eggbid - seb crosses. :-)

Innbetween, so good to hear from you. I love your babies! I wish I had some idea about them to help you but unfortunately I am a gawker! I just love to look at them. Look at the feet!!! The tub pic is so cute. Did you hatch them yourself?? Adorable! :D

Maybe, like my ducks, they get a change in voice as they get older that tells you which are male and female? My females began to quack and my males sort of hiss and make airy noises. Perhaps geese do the same?

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

Is that like poultry puberty? Really? Neat!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Yes, I hatched them. I got 4 in the mail and 2 were fertile and developed. The breeder that I got them from is not sure, but thinks maybe males.
I have 5 more coming from McMurray in April so hopefully I will get some girls.
I will show you how big they are now so funny. So sweet. They love to be held and snuggled. My new favorite breed.
I love this picture. Chech out the face!

1 gander and 2 female sebastopols...the saddlebacks and the male are new and had their feathers clipped for shipping so that is why they are shorter than my females...virginia

i've read that if you look at enough of them you will finally get the hang of it...sexing a goose i mean...i've also read the female sebastopol is darker at birth than the male...can't say for my own experience since i've only hatched females...virginia

Love all the pics of the geese!
I never knew how head over heels I would be over geese but after getting a pair of Tufted Roman geese I 'm so hooked! They are sooooo sweet. My ducklings want to be set down and the geese are just the opposite! They love to be cuddled.

What an adorable picture!!

Owen is sooo sweet with the animals. And they really respond to that. They love to climb into his lap. Hopefully these geese stay this friendly. What I've read it seems that they really like people. Fingers crossed!
InnBetween, I just love the Sebastopol Geese. Hope you get some females and have the opportunity to raise some of your own. That's what I hoping for with mine. I can't wait to see goslings chasing after mom!
