I've been doing a bit of cross-pollination, lately, and while looking at the blossom on Chivalry, I noticed that it didn't appear to have any stigma at all. Is this normal? I haven't noticed it on the other varieties I've grown, but then I didn't notice on this one until I went to pollinate it. I've seen three flowers now without stigmas, so I don't believe it was just a problem with the particular bloom.
Chivalry: no stigma on the style?
Hi Tropicalaria,
I had the same problem with the same plant. I had a average of 4 out of every 7 blooms without stigmas on this plant. I stopped using its pollen in our crossings because I did not want the bad trait to carry on to the new crosses.
