Some how I thought local people may have referred to this as 'Tomato-head' woodpecker, I believed I've seen redbelled woodpecker. But this fella's head, his whole head is all red, and not just as the cap on the redbellied that I can remember. Please help demystify this for me. Who is he?
WoodPecker, Tomato-head?
Red-headed Woodpecker
How wonderful! So now I've 3 different types of woodpecker, the downy, the redbellied, then the redhead. Thank you.
And the Downy's and Hairy's look so much alike that you may have both of them. I can only see the difference with binoculars.
I'm off reading about them. Thanks JuneyBug. :-)
