Can I plant angel and devil trumpets together

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have a new garden area, I am going to fill with angel trumpets, but was wondering if it will hurt anything to place a few devil trumpets in there as well?

MMM a battle of the over and under worlds... I planted a bunch of datura in between a bunch of brugs I planted at mothers.. just as long as the dats aren't shaded.. they will be fine

oh goody. I planted one datura and 1 brug together. can't wait to see what they do this summer

Thanks everyone!
I just wanted to make sure!

Careful...
Daturas can develop nasty, brown spots and virus. They also don't like wet feet - while Brugs like a lot of water.

Thanks.

Gordo, you know, I've always heard brugs are thirsty but mine aren't particularly so. could it be 'cause they're planted inground?

thanks for the tip on virus. I planted the beautiful double purple datura w/ brug Wretched Mess (?). I'm excited about it.

I don't plant them together because the datura are super aphid magnets in my yard. The brugs get aphids too but the dats really get them so if I keep them apart I can control it better.

What do you use for the aphids?

My Brugs tend to be thirsty, because summer is relentless here in Florida. In-ground or out of ground, its a task keeping all of it hydrated June - October.
I highly recommend the National Walking Sprinkler. He's an indispensable employee around here - like having someone watering while you're weeding.

Nery, Richmond appears to be surrounded on three sides by the Brazos River. How high is the water table? Soil type? If the water table is high, the plants could be getting some water through capillary action. I'm on the high side of the Colorado with sandy soil and a water table that averages ~ 40ft. If I water today, I need to water again Saturday. Tomorrow during summer!

Hiya V! I have a sprinkler system but it's set to run for 1 hr a week. That is it, even in summer. In Jul/Aug they get droopy in the afternoon but even then, I don't provide more water and by morning they're recuterated. hmmmm, interesting.

the walking sprinkler is cool. I will consider that for an area that only has a faucet, well not yet but in the next couple of months. It will beat having to lug the dang hose around.
