There are lots of these growing wild in this coastal community. They are hard to take pictures of, I must say.

Yes, I believe it's Coreopsis tinctora, Plains Coreopsis. Lovely!

Here's a picture I took the other day of a clump growing through a short drought-stressed Mediterranean palm.
We have a lot of drought-stressed plants here...although the rain we had last week will help. Still, we're facing a pretty dismal wildflower season. It's been depressing how little is blooming in the wild. I want some of those coreopsis in the yard. So pretty!
We've had drought too but not as bad as elsewhere in the state. The wildflowers definitely aren't as plentiful.
I haven't met a coreopsis I didn't like! They're my absolute favorite wildflower!!
