Oh, boo hoo. I started 2 pots of morning glory seeds. They popped up right away, I brought them inside when the rainy, cool weather came, and when I went to take them back outside Monday, I saw that one of the little 3" tall seedlings had bent over and broken. It was broken about 1/3 of the way down from the top.
Yesterday, I saw that they were all that way.
Does anyone know what caused that, and should I just put the seeds in the ground instead?

Trouble with Morning Glory Seedlings
there is a fungus that attacks seedlings..usually happens if they are kept TOO warm..that happend to me last year cause I had started every thing indooors I lost a lot of stuff. I started mine in a mini greenhouse I set out side. When that cool rainy weather hit they were too big for it so I put them in some clear storage boxes and left the lid on so they wouldnt get beat to death and left them outside just like I had been doing..they all did fine. even when the temps dropped the boxes worked great..you still have time to try again..
Thank you for that.
I shall start again today. No more keeping them inside!

I just start mine directly in the ground when the ground warms up. I first soak them in water overnight but you don't have to do that if you don't want to. Just keep the ground moist until they pop up. I just love morning glories. Someone suggested that I mix them in with moon flowers. The morning glories bloom in the morning and the moon flowers at night. Moon flowers are fragrant too.
I getting reaady o plant my seedling today..that is if the body doesnt give out before I get it done..lol.. last year was the first time I ever did well with the MG I had a trellis groaning withthe weight of them that is till Ike hit..lol..after that there was nothing to do but strip the trellis they were that gone .. Im planing on mixing mine with the moon flowers this year to see how it works..
let us know how you did.
Thanks, all. I did decide to take your advice and planted some in the ground. Got my fingers crossed.
