This guy was spotted near a lake in a park in Flushing, NY. The female is the next post. I can't get a positive ID from my bird books. Does anyone know what kind of duck he is?
CLOSED: What kind of duck?
Farmyard duck. Derived from Mallard, in the same way that a e.g. poodle is derived from a Wolf (which is why you won't find it in your bird books, just as you won't find a poodle in a wild mammals book!).

Thanks so much, Resin!
Yes, they are domestic ducks. They look like a Khaki Campbell male and female. They are not show quality but the are still lovely.
