When do you folks in zone 6 start putting your hummingbird feeders out?

Look at previous years and see when they arrived in your area.

Looking at the maps from previous years is a great idea. For example, it's pretty clear that in my neck of the woods the first reported sightings come around mid-April.
However, I always like to have my feeders up before that -- April 1st or so. I'm not in the garden or watching avidly from my windows every moment, so who knows how many 'early bird' solo hummers I or folks to the south of me miss seeing? With my feeders up early, anyone who might come by can have a drink.
