NJ Stacker drainage question

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Okay, this may be a dumb question. I just got some of the NJ stackers today.

There are 9 push-out drainage holes in each pot. Do I open all of these holes (except in the base planter)?

The reason I was wondering is if you poke out the holes it's no longer really a self-watering planter, but if you don't it seems like you would have to water both of the top two layers because the little side overflows would only drip down to the next odd or even planter.

Jake,

The way they have been designed is to water the top two planters. One waters 3 and 2 waters 4. Alittle silly if you have only 3 planters but they work real well. Don't punch out the holes.

Thanks for the reply Bob. For some reason I had thought I would just water the top one, but it's no big deal to do the top two.

Ohhhh, so you want at least 4 stacked, on top of the base? Makes sense. Glad the question was asked.
