What causes leaves to grow unevenly on a new vine? I've noticed with one of my Hoyas...it'll grow one normal leaf and the opposite one is shrunk.
Uneven Leaves
Just like us...all of our hair doesn't please us and I have a couple of fingernails I can't shape...I kid you not!!! No worries about the leaves...it isn't EVERYone, is it?
Actually, it's only the one Hoya doing this. The furry H. calycina. Enough of the leaves to be noticeable...maybe this one need more fertilizer than the rest?
Often my calycina does that...and some leaves get deformed, too....
Yup, deformed, non existent...funny plant. I guess I better just get used to it then?
maybe those plants have a genetic malformity...?
Maybe, I wouldn't mind if it was just the occasional leaf, but it's an entire new vine. Two actually. Christine, did you get yours at Pike Lake too?
What kinda light do you grow yours in Christine?
Lots of things can form wierd leaves: bug bite when it was being formed, some kind of pressure on it as it grew, and just happenstance. I would check the underside of the leaves for some bug...like mites or thrips...and not worry about it.
Ahh...maybe I'll switch it then. I have it in a North facing window. I've been looking to put my cv. sunrise in the North window since it's showing signs of sunburn...I'll just switch them. Thanks!!
