I've seen this bird at the thistle feeders lately. My book on Florida Birds says flocks of the American Goldfinch can be seen throughout Florida from early November through April but this is the first I've ever seen this bird in the 42 years I've lived here. I'm not even sure it is a Goldfinch, but it's the closest I've come, comparing it to photo's in my bird book.
Thanks for any help in identifying!
CLOSED: Is this a Goldfinch?
Yes it's a beautiful American Goldfinch!
Thank You pelletory! I'm not real good at identifying plants or animals from comparing photo's but it's the closest I got and wanted to know for sure! We get so many different birds here in our area but I had never seen a Goldfinch before. Thanks again for the quick response!
