How Cool!

But will it hurt anything? This just popped up overnight and I think this looks great! I love the pretty yellow color especially beside the bright pink Alternanthera, but I want to make sure it's not going to bother any of the plants. I'm fairly new to terrarium gardening, but I should imagine some of you more experienced folks run into this from time to time. Should I leave it? Will it multiply or will it eventually just die?

Thanks for any tips or info,
La

I can't see it hurting anything. Looks like you have your humidity right ^_^ Might want to keep an eye on the area when it does its thing and dies...keep a watch for any mold and remove its remains if so.

Thanks Three! It looks like it's already wilting a little bit. Bummer. Now I want to grow a crop of 'em in there. LOL.

It is a mushroom. While it probably won't hurt anything, it will spew thousands of spores over the leaves of your other plants which can be unsightly (easily rinsed or toweled off) but that also means the possibility of lots of new mushrooms. I try to pull up little mushrooms before they mature and spew thousands (maybe more) of spores.

Thanks Butch. I really liked the way it looked and if it were possible to control the population I'd let a few sprout here and there. I'll have to keep an eye out and see what develops.

A lot of times you can see little yellow dots on the side of the glass under the soil or on top of it and you know in a few days you are going to have a lot of company. It is best to pull them up as soon as you see them to keep them under control.

Yup, there's another one coming up now. It's a darn shame that they can't behave themselves.

Thanks so much for the input.
