starting some unfamiliar tree seeds, help ?

Mississauga, ON(Zone 6a)

I've ordered seeds for some trees that are either not available or hard to find here or too expensive for me to buy as potted plants. All are intended to become bonsai some day or at least, that is my hope. There are two Ficus, Microcarpa and Pumila, Pomegranate Nana [dwarf], and a dwarf weeping form of Callistemon or Bottlebrush. The others are Leptospermums, one is Scoparium rosea, Pink Tea Tree, the other, L. Attenuata,White Tea Tree. So far as I know L. Scoparium is supposed to be reasonably easy to start from seed but from what I've read, figs can be difficult.

While the seeds are supposed to come with instructions, I am wondering if anyone here has tried growing any of these from seed, and might have some advice for me ? I have a small light garden, I was planning on starting them under the lights in small covered flats.

Hi phfurballs,

I've never tried any of these but for assistance I'd probably go to either the Trees, Shrubs, and Conifers discussion forum http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/tas/all/ or the Seed Germination discussion forum http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/germination/all/ Hopefully someone out there can help you.

Thanks for the info.. I'm still learning my way around this place . I keep getting sidetracked by a pic or a thread and next thing I know I've blown a couple of hours and forgotten what I started out looking for. Mind, there are far worse fates in life :-).
