5th Annual Houston Daylily Yard Sale & Nursery Hop, May 9th

Hi, everyone! The daylily yard sale is on May 9th this year. Here is the website with a list of plants and prices: http://www.ofts.com/bill/yardsale.html The yard sale starts at 7am, and you really need to be there at 6:45 to make sure you get a chance to see the selection. This is just one guy's daylilies.. He divides and pots them in the fall so they are ready to sell in the spring. Some years he has a lot of plants and we have plenty of time to browse, and one year they were all gone - every single plant - in approximately 90 seconds. I think that year was an aberration, though, as he's never had so few plants since. His prices are excellent, and the daylilies are gorgeous!

Last year a bunch of us met there and then went to breakfast, and then went nursery hopping in the Heights. We had a blast! This year there is an RU in College Station the same day, so I may just go to the yard sale and then head for the RU... But of course that shouldn't stop the rest of you from having fun. :-)

I think that sounds like a plan! I believe I'll do the same thing - be at the daylily sale at opening, snatch a few up (of course I'm SOOO organized that I will already have a list of my purchases. HA! Not), then head to College Station. It will be a full, but a satisfying and fun day! I looked at the website and he has many, many daylilies I've never seen in person and couldn't afford to order out of a catalog. His prices are extremely reasonable. Woohoo, I can't wait!!!

I've already picked out some of my favorites from his website. :)

I'm still thinking about it. I had a lot of fun last year.

I will try! We never know until we get there how much of any plant he will have. But I'll take my list and get as many of them as I can. Don't pay me until afterwards, when we know how many of yours I was able to snag.

Tabitha, you might try posting on the daylily forum. I'm going to try and be there, but not real early, and not for the nursery hop. Since back surgery, hopping isn't one of my favorite things to do!

I'm going to go to the daylily sale, and then come back home and gather the dh and bunnies and head for the College Station RU. It'll be a long day, but it should be fun. :-) Don't wait too late to go to the garage sale, Annette. His daylilies sell pretty quickly!

I have a few of Bill's, and they are nice. I'll just have to wait and see.
