Can I use something like teak oil to protect the wood in a raised Garden Bed intending for vegetables and herbs?
I was going to build a 4'x8' vegetable bed using redwood but wanted to protect the wood on the inside of the bed by using a natural oil or something if it is safe to use.
I would also like to stain the outside part of the wood that doesn't touch the soil if that is ok too.
Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

JT, we line the inside of wooden raised beds with 6 mil plastic to prevent water from leaking out through the seams between the pieces of wood, This happened before we used the lining. It also provides a measure of protection for the wood, which is cedar fence plank.

Since I use pressure treated wood, I also line the bed around the sides. Not the bottom, just the wood that will touch the soil.
