seeding experiment results

Quincy, FL(Zone 8b)

on 2/28, when the moon was in aries (a dry and barren sign) i put a squash seed and black eyed susan seed in separate self watering containers i made out of soda bottles. i kept them outside in the sun, it's been nice and warm here. these seeds did not germinate until this week on 3/10, so it took 10 days to germ.

now, i did the same thing on 3/6, when the moon was waxing and was also in cancer (the most fruitful sign). the seeds germinated sometime between 3/10 and 3/11...so, only about 4 days to germ.

the moon was waxing in aries and cancer but was closer to full when it was in cancer, so i'm sure that contributed as well.

there was definitely a difference in germ. time
i will post pics soon...

Do you still have them growing so we can see if the "right" ones are stronger as well as quicker?

they are still growing. and actually, you wouldn't be able to see a difference in the two squash plants, because right now they look exactly alike. however, with the black eyed susans, i had more germinate when sown at the right phase. i'll probably try and keep track of the two squash plants to see if there is any difference in production.....they'll be going in an HEB next w/e along with a couple other seeds, so i'll have 4 squash plants in one...i'll take some pics of the squash and susans so you can see tonight

They turned out largely successful, didn't they?

Thanks for the compliment, I like planting mixed beds.
