Do those of you who use Marathon and other systemic insecticides have to wear gloves when you pot and repot? Also, does Marathon or Avid work for you?
I really hate to wear gloves, especially for tiny plants, and I love to 'feel' the little stems and the soil moisture.
Lynn
Marathon
you really should wear them and wash your hands afterwards, theres no telling what effects it could have on you,its a poisen,
JIM
They both are necessities for me and I never wear gloves for marathon..............I am using a little 1/4 tsp holding it anyway. I do wear gloves for Avid............I also keep Conserve which I don't wear gloves for. They say alternating Conserve and Avid keeps the bugs from becoming immune to them...............but what do I know............
I treat everything new that comes in my house........even leaves I wash with pet flea shampoo 1 tbsp to a gallon........before I use them.........and let it drip in the soil of a plant....
Thanks for the input! I think I need to be very careful.
And the best sources for Marathon is ? . ? . ?
One is Cape Cod Violetry.I don't know the price until I get home.

JIM
Oh, I forgot about that one! Thanks, Jim!
On Cape Cod,it says call for the price on Marathon or Avid,so I.m not sure. There prices are pretty good on most supplies, though. What is Violet Reflections,if you don't mind me asking.
Lynn
Seems to me when I called Cape Cod, their prices on Marathon and Avid were a tad lower. I should have ordered then! I've emailed and called since then with no luck. Maybe they're on vacation?
its a yahoo group that discusses violets
JIM
Thanks Jim.

They are having medical problems as they are an older couple.. If you go to there ebay listing and ask Barbara to have John read your email or answer you message she will do that... This is Cape Cod.
