Rosamond- a Bouquet of blooms today

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

Rosamond is one of those brugs that is often overlooked. This is a very fast growing, heavy blooming brug that has an amazing fragrance. She also outcrosses easily. She is about to flush very heavily. Here we have one branch that has bloomed so heavily that it seems to have formed a bouquet of blooms.

Very beautiful GARY, you are so lucky you did not get as cold and freezing as we did, but all is getting full of buds here again also. I wish i had your Trees for shade in my garden.

Christa I had to make my own shade. There were no trees out on the patio. My largest brugs are strategically placed to provide shade. The trunks of the trees don't obstruct the sprinkler too so that water is distributed to everybody. that was the biggest problem I had during the summer when I was away and had inexperianced help watching my yard. As the small leafy plants grew they began to block the spray of water to other plants so i lost them. That has been taken care of and now things will be moved as they became too leafy. My garden is ever changing. I have to move and repot all the time. I have learned what will take full sun and what needs the shade. It took a few years but I finally have got a grasp on how to grow these things!!

I had forgotten about Rosamond. She is a beautiful brug. I bet your neighbors just love sitting outside at night when the fragrance is so intoxicating.

That is beautiful. What do they smell like? I'm getting interested in growing some!

The majority of brugs have a heavy baby powder fragrance. Some have a lemony or citrus smell also. I have heard of a cherry smelling one (adelaide) but I haven't smelled that one myself. Brugs are only fragrant at night but you can smell some of the stronger ones a block away when in full flush on a summers night.

That is another beautiful Brug you have blooming, now I know I should have moved to Florida years ago.

Stunning... kicking myself now for my cuttings dying while I had the flu! They were growing so well but everything was neglected during that time.. lucky my dogs survived.. thank the cat for that.. she demanded being fed and the dogs were lucky their food was next to the cats so they got food too!
