My kitty Feif has the catnip gene and it's fully turned on. In fact I think she has 2 catnip genes and they are both turned on. Her brother Barney has it too, but it's only half way turned on. So when I looked thru my seed catalogue to find out where the catnip was stored, I noticed I had three packets from three different people I had traded with. Luckily all of them had lots of chaff so I decided to find out which one Feif like the best and rubbed the tip of three fingers with each then proceeded with the Feif Test.
Feif must have caught wind, literally of what I was doing because she was in my face before I finished closing the last packet. I presented the three fingers and she started her "cat gone wild" routine. Barney stopped by, wondering what all the caterwauling was about and was about to sniff the fingers when Feif, literally slapped him in the face.
I knew which seeds to plant when Feif tried to swallow my finger. I don't know who sent me the seeds, but apparently they grew some pretty potent catnip according to Feif.
