I leaped before I looked too!

Slidell, LA(Zone 8B)

Please excuse me for just taking off on this place before I formally into'd myself. This looks like a great place to hang out. I'm one of the GWers that bailed and a sweet Michele from NZ directed me here. There will probably be even more show up before it's over with.
My name is Kay and I'm from Louisiana also (saw there's quite a few already). :) I am a newbie from the old Garden Party and sadly decided to leave when we were going to have to pay. I love gardening, especially tropicals and roses, and ponding. I have two garden kitties that help me out. I have many hobbies but gardening is my #1 passion and enjoy talking with others. I'm married with 2 boys and have two grandsons that I love to spoil rotten. Other than that I try to enjoy life now that I'm retired. Don't let my new username fool ya. I'm a good witch that just doesn't have as many hormones as she used to. Chocolate usually cures my temperment in a pinch. Glad to be here and look forward to meeting others.

Kay, it is nice to find out more about you, now that we "met" over on the General Discussion forum. I share your interest in ponds, although tropicals are a bit out of my zone (I do like the tradeoff, though - we get to enjoy all four season, not just hot, hotter and hottest....not to mention the lack of hurricans, ugh!)

I have three kids - two boys and the "princess". Unless you count my DH, which means I have four kids. Also have two dogs, one cat, and I-don't-know-how-many fish in the pond. And a frog for good measure.

Now, Dori, you know the farther south you live, the better you understand dem cajuns :) But those northerners, now THEY have an accent for sure!!!! (giggle) Welcome to DG, Kay!

Ah Terry and Dori, thanks again for the warm welcome! I'm not a coona** (that's not derogatory, by the way and if you are one you're proud of it) but we do say "da" alot (ie; da lamp, etc.)and call everybody darlin'. Don't worry, Dori, we like being different but most of all we're a friendly, fun-lovin bunch. :) Hope I can be a good ambassador of da beads and mudbugs along with others in this state. Terry, would love to get to Murfeesbboro some day and see those roses up there! By the way, I have a DH child too but I'm gonna keep him anyway. Wish I could send you half the froggers we had this summer. I knew we made a mistake building one of the ponds close to the bedroom window. Just one of da pond mistakes we made.
