I am having a hard time with crows. Now that I am learning about them, It hink they are pretty cool birds and would like to have something for them, other than me banging them away. Is there anything they like to eat that I can put away from the other feeders so they stop shaking my whole feeding system to death everytime they get on it. Is it just the corn? Or do they go for it all. I know they like nuts, I just saw one fly away with a whole big cashew. ERRRR those are for the woodpeckers and bluejays.
I wish they would eat this mockingbird that is really causing me grief. This thing just scared away the crows, good, but it wont let any other birds come to the feeder.

feeding the crows
My crows eat corn and a small amount of sunflower seeds that I sprinkle on the ground. They haven't been back to the feeders since I started throwing the corn, BOSS, leftover buttered biscuits (quartered) onto the ground about 20 feet from the feeders. They seem to appreciate not having to get onto the feeders since they are made for smaller birds. The only one that they could reliably get on was a tray feeder (inherited from the previous owner) that was nailed to a tree and it is only big enough for one at a time. I was glad that it was so easy to get them to leave the feeders alone! When the winter weather gets fierce, I throw dog food out for them.
O thanks, dog and cat food I have plenty of. Will try to throw some more on the ground...I keep it pretty stocked, for the squirels and birds that the mockingbird wont let to the feeder. That darn bird is in control of three feeders in my yard right now, and where it lives, it can only see one of them. Its nuts.
