my hubby lovingly killed nearly all my passies and jasmines/gardenias when I went away on vacation last fall - but, I did manage to revive a few of them - been crossing fingers and seen a few green leaves and shoots - still not holding out too much hope that they would survive - they live in the basement under lights and I just recently managed to rearrange the light rack and get some order going...
Spring has sprung....
went to water & fertilize the rest of the plants the other day and decided, even if I know better, what the heck - give the passies some fertilizer as well - I use seaweed & fish emulsion, not the most pleasant smelling combination - but, it seems to work...came down in the basement tonite and look what I found...
Plant is still small, but, I do see more growth on all of them and this one has another bud :-)
So, I guess there is something to be said for persistence - I really thought I had lost all of them (hubby forgot to water, then overwatered...) - but, pruned them all down to nothing, left them in light rack for the winter and looks like I'll have at least 10 or so to bring outside
It is beautiful. Maybe I will feed mine too. Wake them up a little. Thanks.
Golllly Bec! Great news!
I'm trying to find out too the benefits of light, fert, water and warmth.
By the way, I got a 'hardy passion vine', blue flowers, from a swap. Do they make tuber-like things? I dug up the plant but also found surprising tubers in the spot. Sorry for hijacking, I'm just that rude.
LOL - Sally, you are one of the least rude people I know...on the tubers, I'm clueless - that must be answered by the experts - I only have a few passies in the ground, and I planted them, pot & all!
