Is there any such thing?

Is there any such thing as a dwarf Aechmea Gamosepala and a large variety as well?
We have a large number of these good size bromeliads that never bloomed until now...and to our surprize out came the same blue and pink 'matchsticks'.
Now the dwarf ones we have stay rather small, paper thin green glossy leaves, and pup at the base.
The larger ones we now have, have much thicker leaves and they are not glossy, and they pup out like fireballs do... above ground. I will attach pictures of both to compare, and I hope someone has an easy answer because they are for sure 2 different kinds of brommies. Thanks for ANY info!

Yes! There is a large and small form, and you are right, the small clumps and the large climbs on long stolons. The smaller one also has brighter green foliage , and softer.
Well spotted!

GREAT! But do you happen to know the name of the larger one......they are so pretty for being just a green Brommie too. In our collection, we have never seen a bromeliad of this size, reproduce so many, so fast either.
Thanks!
