Ok, I am going to be planting some stuff in the EBs tomorrow:
lettuce; 8 per EB and I'm planting 48 heads of lettuce; so that is 5 for the lettuce,
I'm planting two EBs with cabbage that's 6 per EB.
My spinach hasn't all sprouted yet, I have them in 50 bio sponges,
Questions:
1. Can I plant the spinach anyways, even though they haven't sprouted yet? They are in the bio sponges and I could just plant the sponges? Or should I wait a while longer?
2. TPlant you said we use 1/2 cup of epsom salts is that with lettuce, spinach, cabbage and cukes also?
3. Should I put 2 cups of dolomite lime, 2 cups of granular fertilizer and 1/2 cup of epsom salts in the coconut coir as that is the growing medium I'm using in my EBs this Spring?
4. I'm planting 50 cukes also; 30 will fit in the bloommaster hanging basket, and the other 20 will fit in the other hanging basket. Do I add dolomite lime and epsom salts to the hanging basket also?
I need the answers by tomorrow.

Need answer before tomorrow morn on this?
Here is my 2 cents:
1. Wait on the spinach
2. epsom salts for EVERYTHING
3. YES
4. YES
Note: I plant one (1) cucumber plant in a 5 gallon bag. Are you really planning to plant 30 in one basket?
BocaBob
Bob: They are the national pickling type and the bloommaster holds 30 of them. It's a huge basket that hangs from my planter stand that has 30 holes in the side of the basket the medium holds the plants inside the basket. I have another question too, here goes: I have 40 lettuce to plant and was thinking instead of using the EBs for the lettuce, they might do well in the self watering vertical type, does the self watering vertical type have 40 plant sites for lettuce? Might want to do my spinach the same way as I have 50 of them. Which one do I need, they aren't all self watering are they? Just the NJ ones right?
My cabbages will fit into two EBs.

You build your stack any way you want. For example: The 15" SW NJ Planters could hold 6 lettuce plants each. 6 stacked on a pole would give you 36 heads of lettuce. The Veggie Producers are flow though and not SW. All the NJ are SW.
If you get your camera fired up, I would love to see that cuke basket. Never heard of anything like that. Sounds really cool.
I'm tacking the garden weed cloth down with huge garden staples and then double wrapping each individual EB stand in the clear thick plastic and placing it where I want it on the weed cloth. That way, when Bob's 10 lay flat bags get here I will have room to put them, (on my picnic bench). (smiles).
Here is another pic:
Joy, You're going through an aweful lot of trouble with your EBs. Actually, just a layer of the weedcloth would do it. The Boxes can sit on the weedcloth alone. Why did you build the boxes for them to sit on?
I'd combine some of those boxes, set them on the ground, fill 'em with coir or potting mix, and make addtional growbeds!
gymgirl: The weed cloth stapled down, then the boxes then the EBs elevates the EBs up a bit so they aren't so close to the bugs. I covered the boxes with thick plastic too, so they can't crawl up from inside either. LOL I've thought about having a wooden cold frame made with an old door on top to be able to lift it and possibly prop it up during nice weather and close it when it gets cool, that way I will be able to start lots of plants earlier next season.
