Preventing cats from pooping in yard & garden?

Humble, TX

I don’t know if we have more stray cats than usual, but my yard and garden has become their favorite litter box. Some poop on the grass, and some prefer the vegetable garden I just planted. Is there something I can do, or should I borrow a dog for awhile? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have never had too much success but there is a product called Repel. It is a granular and has a pungent smell. If you can handle the smell it repels cats and dogs. I always hated sticking my hands in to plant or weed and realize there was something there. It smells so bad and well if a woman is pregnant (not saying you are) but if you want to be) cat poop is dangerous for a pregnant woman to handle. A lot of people don't know that.

Repel does not stink it is what I describe as pungent. After a rain it has to be reapplied. But most sprays like No or Scat have to be reapplied every 24 hours.

I hope someone knows of something better or different and they will come along. But I do know this stuff works and is sold in 1/2 gallon size like milk carton containers at most pet stores.

I hope you have good luck with getting them to stay away.
Please tell "I do" I send her a hug and kisses. I bet she ihas gotten so big. Hope to see you at a round up or maybe one day you will want to come visit and take some cuttings or plants home.

Blessings,

Thanks Feldon for the links. I spread some coffee grounds out on everything. Hopefully that will help.

Even if the coffee grounds don't keep the cats away, your plants will love you for the extra attention!
