I am going to be going through Austin on Monday and only have time (and patience from my family) to visit one nursery. What would be the best bang for the buck, especially for natives? I am currently leaning towards The Natural Gardener, but would like to hear everyone's favorites.
Thanks!

Nursery in Austin?
My favorite is It's About Thyme, out Manchaca Rd. nearly to Manchaca. Not sure about natives, but lots of great plants for not too many dollars.
I would say Barton Springs Nursery on Bee Caves Road in west Austin. They have a lot of natives that they propogate themselves and the prices are hard to beat because of that. The Natural Gardener is wonderful as well, a little further west of Austin.

It is looking like Barton Springs is the winner. Lots of natives, plus a sandbox and parrots to entertain the family. Can't beat that!
Thanks for the suggestions.

Dennis,
Let us know how it went at Barton Springs. Did you get into a lot of trouble?
Annie
Barton Springs Nursery was a very nice nursery. I was very impressed with their selection, and that they had so many smaller plants at the $1.99 price point. I didn't buy too much, though, since lots of plant sales are coming up.... :)
I ended up with heartleaf skullcap, pale pavonia, silver falls dichondra, beebalm, and "Marilyn's Choice" abutilon. I really don't know anything about abutilon. My wife spotted a full size one at the nursery and really liked it, so I ended up buying a $1.99 starter. I can't seem to find this particular cultivar on Dave's. Anyone know anything?
