I have a Largo Purple in a pot. I brought in and out several times last fall and then forgot and let it freeze back to the ground. I feared I'd lost it but read somewhere that it was possible for peppers to come back from the root. I got my GH repaired and moved it in there in early January really thinking it was a waste of time. Well it's back along with at least a dozen babies that appear to be coming true from seed that had fallen into the pot.

I think my coldest temp this winter was 27 and that was after it had been moved to the GH.

That's good to know Virginia. I do love the pretty thing. I'm potting up the babies for gifts to neighbors and friends that have admired it. My son eats the peppers.

Ozark has overwintered a Purple Maui for years. Smokemaster overwinters many peppers in the San Diego area.

I have over wintered many types of pepper plants. Sometimes I even dig them up from my garden and bring them in the house, some have always been container plants. They have done fine its just a pain taking them in and out of the house.
