So, I am wondering if there are Birders here from around Strasburg, VA. And, if so, where are the birding locations?
I've driven around here for hours trying to find nice places but all of the ones I've found have signs posted: No Trespassing! This sucks.
So, any help is much appreciated.
Thanks! :)

Eric, are you close to the Shenandoah National Park? Since we live in Northern Virginia, we have made several trips there. That was where we saw our first Vireo and (believe it or not) I saw my first bear. The lodges (and dining rooms) are closed for the winter, which doesn't make the trip as much fun, but still very much worth it. We also took a trip to Chincoteague Refuge. It would require an overnight stay, but is well worth the trip. The nature center there has an Eagle Cam and we saw lots of waterfowl that we'd never seen before. BTW, that's the home of the Wild Ponies, which is an added attraction. Happy birding to you.
Mrs Ed, thanks for the info.... but Alexandria isn't close to Strasburg.
wbbirdwoman, I'll be checking out Shenandoah in Spring. I can't wait. I specifically want to know, though, about locations in this area. :)
I wouldn't know, Eric I've only been to Virginia once, to the airport!
We'll, it's odd, it says
Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve - Dyke Marsh is a freshwater tidal wetland consisting of 380 acres just south of Alexandria, Virginia, and north of historic Mt. Vernon.

Mrs Ed, yes, all that info is correct but it still isn't close to Strasburg. :)
Hi Eric, Maybe if you check with the closest chapter of Audubon in Va. they'll be able to tell you. here is a link for Va.
