a research on various pond related plants

Floyd, VA(Zone 6b)

Hi, I have been researching pond related plants since 2007. I am growing many from seed and intend to grow others as well. Some I will have to buy if I decide to get them. I don't want to seem a know-it-all, but this is what I came up with and some of you might find it useful. I had to google the images of some to find out what they look like. Two seed companies (www.hardyplants.com and www.jlhudsonseedsman.com) have many of the seeds. You are taking a chance (see DG Watchdog listing) on hardy plants, but they have a huge selection.)

tetleytuna,
Most of these do not grow in water (but a few do,) mostly they love moist soil. There are so many submersible, floating, etc. plants for water other than water lilies, that I am not bothering with them. This is because my extension agent said a pond as big and old as mine with a rock/gravel/clay bottom would not need any aerators.
I have ten nice pond books; I began collecting in 2007 when I realized I would be moving here. I bought the most beautiful books from www.betterworld.com for $3.58 (which includes shipping and postage.) I have lots of cooking books and garden books of all kinds which cost that amount. When you make your selection click "low to highest." One good thing to remember is that even a $6 book is not that expensive because you are not paying $3.99 or $4.99 in postage as most of the other used book sites demand. When I feel low, I treat myself. It is so much fun when they are delivered (promptly, I might add.)

I am putting on a full court press for the gardens and pond so that I will have the major plants in place or growing on from seedlings to be in place next summer. Then I think I can relax (from sowing dozens of kinds of plants and flowers.)
