I am so excited!!! Wanted to share the joy I am feeling with my fellow plant addicts!!! : ))

Wow! Congratulations! Do you have it in a greenhouse or outside? I know they do not like heat so look out for it when the weather heats up... or has it already? We have had temps in the high 80's already.. it is 83 here right now.

Sweet!!! Congrats....how old is it? You give me hope for my seedlings.

It's outside, but in dappled shade, in the same bed as my gingers...Kmarj, I don't know how old it is, but I got it in a 4" pot last fall, and it grew like mad!
Lenette I will definitely post pictures, gosh I will be high in the stars! : )

Very nice!

Congratulations ...we will be waiting for a look at the blooms.

Good growing Roberta!

It would be worth it to use a mister system when it starts to heat up to keep it cooler--it worked wonders for mine last year in the heat & drought (and kept me cool too). I found mine at a Walmart, but not all of them had it. I attached mine to the gutters across the front of my house and just turned it on for 15-20 minutes in the heat of the day--sometimes more. This year I hope to add a timer if it's a bad as last year! Here's their website http://mistymate.com/ Warning--this page takes a long time to load! https://mistymate.com/shop/component/option,com_virtuemart/page,shop.browse/category_id,16/Itemid,26/

Roberta, looking forward to see photos of her blooms!

Vi, thanks for your idea of using a mister. Humidity was frequently very low, as low as 11%, last summer. My Brugs refused to grow much. If it gets that bad this coming summer, I'll have to get a mister for them.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Wow, those misters are pretty "cool"! I want one for MYSELF, lol!

I lost my Maya cuttings when I was sick... Waaaahhhh! It kills me.. they were growing so well.. the largest ones were the ones that died.. they used up all their moisture the fastest! My biggest and best were the first to die because of my neglect.. I could not help it.. I am lucky my dogs and cat lived through my flu! Much less some of my plants. For that matter.. ME! I had my doubts at times. LOL I had one of those misters along my patio but it did not last long because of our hard water.. they clogged up with mineral deposits and quit working. I tried the stuff to soak them in but it did not work.

I am so thrilled for you. And in my zone, too. I traded for a Sanguinea that I do not think is a true one. I need this plant NOW! Good for you- let us "Fragrant Gals" know how the scent "rates."

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

@@ WOW!! Congratulations!!

Lovely Roberta...another brugmansia success story there..great flower...about a month from bud to bloom.. your winters seem to be about right for them.. keep us informed on what it does..now... through the spring and summer there...here's hoping it's going to continue the flower show for awhile now..
I've a few Sang seedlings going now.. the big one I had last summer.. didn't like the move inside.. to a more constant ...intimate neglect.. maybe it was something to do with being rippped up from it's outdoor planter..or the drastic humidity drop inside..
Great..show

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Be still my heart. Congratulations, Roberta! I hope she makes it through the summer heat.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Yay Roberta!

Isn't it true that the Sanguinea never have a scent?
