hope u enjoy the pics,
silkie
this is one of the white crested black polish youngster pullets. i got a roo and another black pullet and third pullet is white crested blue.
my new babies!!
cute babies
Wow, great pics and great new babies. That blue Polish is fab!
thank you both! i lost all my polish to preditors so i was so happy to be able to get some again.
How cute! Love the do on that polish! LOL The Showgirls are so cute! What a fun day that must have been.. I could do chicken stuff 24/7 and nothing else and I would be just fine. Darling lil Serama.. :)
awwwww.... they are just too cute for their feathers. I like the first one. The polish with the white head. hehehe It looks like a wig! CUTE!!!!!! with a capital Q!! LOL
I love them! I live in southern ct. and am looking for two black silkies. where did you find yours, I expect to go for a drive to pick some up, but am having trouble finding a breeder to sell pullets.
lol, they do look cute in their wigs. i'll have to take pics for ya of the roo and other 2 older pullets. u should of seen their parents. the one roo to the blue babies his crest was so long it hung about 4-5" down around his face. he was a white crested splashed handsome fella. his crest reminded me of when we was kid's used to play with the playdough barber pumper chairs. remember how their hair grew on them people, lol. kinda the same effect i had to laugh.
i only have 2 black silkies a mom and a baby but they r in my splash/blue- silkie/showgirl pen. i have had a real hard time trying to find good blacks that r jet black not blue looking. i don't even remember who i got my black hen from now and the baby is from her i hatched out. i usually hatch splash and blues from that pen but blacks r hit and miss depending on who breeds in there. depending on who she mates with normaly she throws blue showgirls then blue silkies before black silkies. i'm hopeing to add more blacks this year but have to get other breeds in first to make up for the preditor losses so it will be a bit yet for their pen.
I showed a pic of the Crested Polish to my brother and he said they looked like Victorian Judges! LOL
Thats pretty funny ZZ's Never quite thought of it like that. That is funny.
Silkie!!! WoW: I never knew you had the polish crested before. I had four black/white crested hens and two Roo's. I finally got rid of them. The Roos got avery large but remained very friendly. I just did not care for them much and finally was able to sell the six together. They are lousy layers and I could find no reason to just have them around. I see them free around here all the time in the paper and on Craigs list. But the silkies are so adorable, I just love the little black hen. I groom her a lot and she behaves like a little puppy. When I first got her she was skittish, now when i go out to her coop she comes running and of course I always have treats for her. Can't wait to see your new pic's. Haystack
We need more pics Silkiechick! LOL Never can get enough!
i've has polish off and on for about 5 years now, lol. i've had frizzled and non, silver laced, buff laced, white, r/c red, w/c blues, w/c blacks, mixed colored frizzles even blue egged ones, rotfl. oh and the best one yet even a fricken= frizzle/polish/turken , omg was she an ugly physco bird, lmbo. i've had black crevs too and now i got white sultans also. gotta love those crested breeds!!
my only complaint is they don't brood their eggs but laying wise they are pretty good but not as dependant as other breeds i have. we love them for their personality and beauty they make great pets and r loads of fun. i agree on the silkies. haha u should bath a silkie and blowdry it once they r a hoot at bath time. dang things will sit on ur lap and just sing loveing every minute of it to funny. i posted pics in another thread of the ones i got after these.
zz, i'll try to take more pics later for ya.
I found out how much chicks like warm water! I had a couple that were pasty butt and I just put their lil behinds under warm running water.. They settle down really good.. get em all clean and dry em off with a paper towel.. good as new. LOL
I've still got lil Chuckie.. the toughest lil bird on the planet.. LOL It is outside and waddles in the mud and doesn't mind a bit. I've gotta give Chuckie a bath.. That will be fun..
edited to add.. this is just Chuckiez baby pic.. It's grown now.. I don't know if it's a roo or a pullet.. and it doesn't matter.. Chuckie is a permanent fixture here.
