For the life of me I cannot remember or figure out which plant put out this gorgeous bright pink and orange bloom. I even examined the leaves and where they are positioned and compared to all of my plants...no idea. Usually I am so careful to take a photo of the label...after the shot so I know which plant it came from but...must have gotten distracted by something.
ID this bloom?
Ooooooh, I don't know, but I want it....the colors are like h. benguentensis, but I kind of doubt that's what it is....hmmmm...there must be someone on here who recognizes it...

I know squat about identifying hoyas and I've looked through so many photo's but couldn't even find a close match to that beauty! I first thought it was diversifolia but nope, not the same folliage at all, or color of bloom! Sure is pretty and I will be watching in hopes someone will recognize it!
I have the plant, this bloom came from, in my collection and it is clearly labeled...I just don't know which one it is. I am lucky to have a bit of the leaves in the photo...but cannot show more of them until I ID it..and when I do I won't need a photo of the leaves...make sense?
Shelley, cannot be h. benguentensis since I don't have that particular plant...yet :0) Maybe it's a 'baby' plant...gotta go outside and search thru those before it gets dark?
Joni...it is H. sp. Philippines IML 0831

One of my favorites...wonderful long strappy leaves, which get nicely red in alot of light.
My guess, anyway... does it look right?

Yahoo!!
Carol to the rescue!! I just brought that one inside to compare the leaves...which are now a deep red like you say. I cannot find the spent peduncle but that has to be it. I feel much better that I can name this photo...you know how I am about having everything labeled correctly.
Thanks everybody! It IS a beautiful color almost neon.
Joni
YES...and it blooms and blooms and blooms! Unfortunately, mine is growing up a 50' tree so I only see the stem and leaves and the birds get all the fun!!!!
It is also a very forgiving plant!!!
OH, I think I'm in love!
Congratulations Joni, it is beautiful.
Carol, if I ever go visit you, I'll bring my ladder (lol)
That is gorgeous! I had to restart mine and am patiently waiting for new growth....

Hey Carol,
It must be forgiving me for putting them all thru such a cold season...it's still standing but no new growth yet.
Maybe I'll need a helicopter to get an additional view of your hoyas and your 6 acres...?
All right ... so good to have a name to put with it! It is a lovely hoya, I like the foliage a lot and the color of that bloom is just so pretty!
No worries, travelers...I have learned my lesson and am growing my hoyas in the avocado trees...not so tall!!!
Ya' know...so many folks shy away from the sp. Hoyas...those with no 'names' and those are my very favorites!!! I have found so many treasures in the H. sp. XYZs and the H. aff. XYZs - . They are all fun...but I guess I really like the unknowns...
I don't mind unknown's at all, especially if they have great looking foliage ... if the blooms are pretty, another plus, and if they are fragrant, even better! But, I like interesting foliage almost as much as pretty blooms!
Joni---do you remember if it was fragrant at all???
Thanks...
Shelley
Shelley,
I do not remmebr so I'm guessing no fragrance but I'll let you know when it blooms again.
I've becoe very fond of the sp. and aff.s since a big part of my collection are unnknowns. I'm ok with them as long as I know how to refer to them.
