Disappearing Bulbs what happenened?

Coos Bay, OR(Zone 7b)

I planted about 300 bulbs 2 falls ago - last year I had a decent showing and was really looking forward to this springs' showing ,but only 3 (?#?*#?) crocus have appeared and 1 chinodoxa!!! The ,daffodils and hyacinths all seem to be coming up nicely. I do seem to have a mole in residence in my yard-- would he have eaten these 2 varieties only? ( the two most important to me!!!)

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

It is usually gophers that eat these not moles. Moles eat bugs and worms but tear things up in the process. One year I planted 200 tulips and gophers ate them all.

This year I put ouot hundreds of bulbs and the dang squirrels have dug half of them up. I have never had a squirrel problem before. Am I PO'd??? YES!!!

Voles will also eat your bulbs, try some gravel .or wire mesh n the hole. Since a type of vole is prtocted in NC I told daughter to plant of to plant Narcissi in ring.
Other bulbs that are not in the same family in the inner ring.

voles is it i know from experience.lol got all tulip bulbs i do have lota daffs bllooming lots and rain lilies or pink ladys or resurrection lilly leaves all up. lotsa them way to many..

Sounds like voles to me, I've had issues with them too. Squirrels and chipmonks will also dig and eat crocus. Daffodils and Hyacinths are typically avoided by rodents.

You've mentioned that crocus and hyacinchs came back, daffodil, what are missing? Tulips? I've to replant my tulips every year -- treating them as annuals here, for they can't handle our hot humid summer, they'll decompost and won't return reliably like that of daffodils and hyacinch, crocus ect.
