I was checking on these leaves of Little Apache Girl. They are growing well and two of the three leaves are growing babies...
Crazy av leaves!
too cool!
How neat is that?!!! Who is that precocious baby?
Little Apache Girl, according to the top post. :-)

Yep, Little Apache Girl...one of the three named AV's I have left over from my collection. It's been so long since it bloomed I can't remember what the bloom looks like. Guess I don't have to wait for long! :)
I'm trying to figure out what went right...It's in MG seed starting mix and it was before I got more perlite. It's in a cup on a foam/paper plate inside a zip lock bag. Maybe it was all that plastic, haha...
look at that, how cute!
Hey jannich...how are you doing? Good to (kinda) see you again :)
Very cool. That never happens to me either.
Lynn
You may not wanna hear this (And you don't have to take my advice) but if that were mine, I'd remove the bloomstalks. They're gonna take MASSIVE amounts of energy from the babies--And could end up killing the whole thing off before you get the babies you want from it..
Very cool looking tho :-)

That's probably really good advice...but since I have the mother plant and another leaf throwing babies, I'm just going to let it do it's thing and be thrilled by it! LOL I'll remember your advice though if it ever happens again...if it was the only leaf of it's kind down, I'd probably cut off the bloom.
Rite on! Will you keep us posted as to what happens?
I sure will :)
Hi there Jacki,Welcome back,it's good to see you again. ^_^ I'm good, thanks. Can't wait to see that little bloom open.
Don't you love when that happens! I had heard of it before but I thought, yea, they probably rooted bloomstalks thats why...until it happened to me the first time and I knew it was just a leaf I had put down to root. I never took mine off either...it might have/probably did- slowed down the growth, but they didn't die and gave me so much joy to see the leaf bloom! tish
