Looking for moss, lichens, liverworts, small ferns

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

I am looking for those neat kinds of things that you would find in an old forest or rock wall in a zone 5 or colder area. Have a wide # of perennials to trade for a box of moist, live plants.

Bellingham, WA

Hello I have all these things but live in zone 7. I believe the ones I have are the same as the ones in the mountians here though so should survive zone 5 weather. I don't know for sure thuogh.

(Zone 8a)

Marcia, if you have not already done so, you might want to do a little research on liverworts. While I think they are very beautiful, they are impossible to get rid of once you introduce them, as there is nothing that will kill them that won't kill your other plants. They are a major pest in nurseries in this area and, hence, in our gardens.

Just food for thought :-)

Thanks Cathy, since I do not like liver, the worts can stay out of my garden, too. I have enough unwanted plant guests, so appreciate the info. Marcia
