Doosie

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

I know I have posted about this one before but I wanted to share these pictures which show the two color stages of Doosie. This is a brug offered by EddieDewayne. I find this brug to be a specular double in my zone. Definitely one of the best. She blooms out white like many brugs do but she remains that way for a few days. Then she turns this beautiful apricot/orange for the remainder of the bloom time. So you can have two different colored blooms on your plant for a week or so at a time. The blooms seem to be uniform (at least so far), in that they are beautiful, fluffy, stuffed skirted blossoms. I have yet to see dropped skirts. Fluffy stuffed skirts are my favorite form of double. Here are some pictures showing the large blossoms and the difference in colors.

you can find him on ebay. He doesn't have a website but he sells a lot of brugs on ebay. I know him personally and he is one of the sellers that should be considered safe and trustworthy.

I know both of them. In fact both of them have been to my house.
Their upcoming website/store should be great. I know I'm looking forward to seeing them have great success.

Ok. Went up on my ladder to get a whiff this evening. Definitely lemony citrus smell. Very clean and pretty fragrant. A++ in my book.

She is a heavy bloomer. More and more skirts are dropping. This is my time of year to try and get pods so I have to tie em up just as soon as the skirts drop.

I have Doosie out crossed to Pink Charm. Pink Charm now has one of largest pods I have ever grown. Not only is it long but it is fat too. Sort of like a pointy cucumber. This Pink Charm x Doosie pod has to have several hundred seeds in there.

Doosie is outstanding! That is one spectacular pod! I will be watching for your results.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

That's quite a pod you have growing there. You should have a contest to guess the number of seeds in it. LOL!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Enter it in the Guinness Book. That pod is the largest I've seen.

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

Shirley, that's a good Idea. I'll wait however until she appears to be ripening so I can pluck it and spend half the afternoon counting them!! The winner will receive a packet of VERY fresh seeds from this pod. Hold off on the guesses though. I'll make an announcement when it's ready......This should be very interesting.....I tried to wrap my hand around it and could not get my fingers to touch. That's how thick it is.....

Can't wait. I love to watch the activity for contests. She looks like she's going to hold a bunch of seeds for sure.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

wow that pod looks like superbrug material ;)

Hamilton, OH

Gary
that is some pod, it does look like a cucumber, if there's a contest for seeds, I would love to be in on it

It would be interesting if you could show the pod open, and all those seeds

The cross sounds like there should be terrific brugs come from it!

Just beautiful!
