I'm in a hurry!

Can anyone tell me the quickest a hoya will flower after it's brought home as a baby? :-)

That's a hard one!

I've seen cuttings blooming in a glass of water while waiting to root, but I've also seen cuttings take years to bloom....

Thanks for the tip. I bought 5 last April and they are growing to beat the band. They are in a south window [they have no choice]. I've only had one other hoya and I'n not sure I will recognise the flower when it starts. Hope the photo isn't too dark.

It depends on the hoya, light conditions, watering frequency, potting medium, fertilizer, and sometimes the whim of mother nature. Multiflora bloomed within six months from a cutting and hasn't stopped bloming since. I have had others four years that still haven't bloomed. Lacunosa is another one that blooms rather quickly from a cutting. Carnosa will take years for some, months for others. In other words mortswife, no one can tell you the answer to your question with absolute certainty.

I agree with Threegardeners and ceedub ... Hoya's sometimes have "minds" of their own, it's just a nice surprise when I do find one in bloom!

Thank you, all.

My best sinerio is finding a cutting or small plant that already has a peduncle...then it acts as a mature plant and blooms quickly.
