Is this ok?

Crestview, FL

I been putting my tomatoes outside under the table on the deck; but am running out of things to put them in. I've been eyeing some buckets and empty shedd spread containrs; but, I've been eyeing them for a while to make minature self watering containers out of (yeah I know I'm sick); but, can I just transplant them into those containers temporarily, without having to put holes in the bottom of them, like say for a week or so? After that, my greenhouse will be up and I can start putting my EBs, HEBs, HE buckets and so forth in there with my tomatoes in them?

Just my two cents - tomatoes don't like root disturbance.

They've been repotted once already and took that ok? I'm careful.

---Must put drain holes in the containers!!! --------

Well, got 4 more E buckets to go, this weekend and then 2 square footers, after that gotta start on either making more E buckets as my daughter came up with some more buckets for me, or the HEBs and EBs and GPs. Transferring my cukes up too, to the bloommaster.

I think I made a boo boo though, as I planted red cabbage, green cabbage, lettuce and spinach in the same bio dome, the lettuce is coming up; but the rest hasn't yet. (groan).

TPlant: Help, what do I do about this?

Transplant the lettuce when ready. Check the back of seed packs as they usually tell you the germination time so you will have a guide. No big deal if you used BocaBobs planter kit. Just lift the cup out?

TPlant: Used the biodome for the lettuce, spinach, cabbage and little toms. The toms are all up under the lights and now so are the lettuce cabbage and spinach. I won't be able to see you or Boca Bob when I come down next week, as I'm going to be coming right in and right out, grabbing a friend to bring back up here with me and getting right back into the gardening. I'm taking the bus of course, and gotta go as I put this off with my dr long as I can possibly do it.

Ok! Another time! Meanwhile use a teaspoon to remove the lettuce seedlings for transplant. Works like a charm!

TPlant: Thanks, I bought a bulb planter by the way, to do what you do with it when you plant in the EBs. LOL See, I'm learning right?

It works surprisingly well and has many uses with all kinds of small plants.

TPlant: I'm looking forward to using that bulb planter when I do my EBs this year. Everyone has given me such great advise and it's going to pay off I just know it.
