My new rescue bunnies - Flynt and Kyndling

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Here are my two rescued bunnies that I got last night from the Animal Rescue League. Their owner had died and they were a bonded pair. I viewed them last week but they needed to be fixed, so I had to wait. Yesterday they were ready to come home.

Here they are in their hutch in our office.

I am not sure if they are Jersey Woolly or angoras or crosses or what.

Here is Flynt. His head is very wide compared to many other bunnies.

Here he was last night...in need of some serious grooming. Since their owner died, I think they may have been neglected for a little while, not that it was the person's fault if they were ill or whatever.

And here he is tonight, after a good 40 minutes of grooming.

Claire they are adorable and they do look woollyish

Reynoldsville, PA(Zone 6a)

they r beautiful, congrats!! they look like lionheads to me, not sure if u have considered that to be a possible breed but hope it helps.

Thanks Harmony! I have been looking at pictures of the woolies and I thought they looked that way too.

Silkie - I hadn't considered that but I will look at some pictures of them.

I have a feeling they are two different breeds. Her head is so narrow and "pointy" compared to his, and their fur feels completely different when I stroke them. I suspect they are not quite the same as each other.

(Zone 7b)

Hard to say there they look like both, a lion head really don't have really long body hair and they have a mane like a lion.
My woolly had a very fluffy coat on her back but not that much on her head.

To be honest yours look kind of like both maybe once they get groomed and their hair relax's back to normal you will be able to tell what they are.

A local TV station had a beautiful angora bunny, 1 year old, up for adoption. They found it in a DUMPSTER! That is awful. Someone had to have thrown it in there. The anchor man was holding her and she just layed there in his arms. Calm as anything. I thought of you Claire, but it is quite far for even you to pick her up. hehehe Someone will take her. She is smokey grey/black. Just beautiful. The wide forehead reminds me of the bunny up above with the wide forehead. Maybe a mix in there. hmmmm...

Oh my goodness! That is CRIMINAL! There should always be a shelter or somewhere to take a bunny. A dumpster is just hateful. Who would do that?

Of course, you could hold her in foster care for me, Sewincircle....

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I so would but two in my house are allergic to bunnies. We had two and I had to give them to a friend. Sad really. I am sure some nice person will take her though. There are plenty of shelters that would have taken that bunny. Lazy people dont want to even bother to drop it off. Horrible!! She will have a better life now though. They said she loves to be brushed! Someone will have a ball with her. ;)
