Hi All~~
I used to post here a bit, then had to take a bit of a break from gardening (life can really get in the way of gardening sometimes, huh?), but I am back and wanted to say a quick "HI" to everyone! I have just ordered a half dozen Brugs thru a DG Co-op ( I am sooo excited co-ops are back!)and know I will have a lot of questions once they arrive, didn't want to bombard you all with questions with out a little hello first! :)
Hope you all have a GREAT day!
Jamie
Just a quick "HI"....been a LONG time!
Jamie, Welcome back! Hope life is treating you better. Ask away when you are ready.
Hi Jamie
I love the co-op also, don't you love that spring will soon be here. I know you don't know me
but welcome back
Elizabeth
Waving hello to you!!!
Happy planting : )
Kim
You guys are all so sweet, and makin' me feel so welcome!! Now, you may regret this approach later when I start bombarding this nice, peaceful forum with all my many, many questions, but for now ya'll are awfully nice!! :-}
My co-op Brugs come in April I believe, so I will be reading a lot of past threads on this forum gathering info and getting ready. Do you guys have any books you recommend, or websites that are good for those of us relatively new to these plants? I will look at the sticky thread to see what info is there, but I also wanted to ask you guys what you recommend!
Thanks again for the kind welcome!
Jamie
I have two books:
http://www.amazon.com/Brugmansia-Datura-Angels-Trumpets-Apples/dp/1552095584/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1235699929&sr=1-1
This the paperback version of the older edition/ There is a new edition out. It is excellent and filled with great information.
Monika Gottschalk's book Engelstrompeten comes with an English translation:
http://www.karcheskycanna.com/
Tonny_Surrow_Hansen is an e-book out. I bought it recently and haven't had a chance to go through all of it, but what I have seen so far is worth the price which is very reasonable.

Two good websites are the ones we are not supposed to mention here on Daves
jamie
where is the brug co-op? i would love to get in on it plmk and thxs
Speaking of the unmentionable.. Who do we have to apply to .. to get the restriction lifted to these two breed sites.. they are fairly . well adjusted with one another ... as we here at dave's are with them... being a paying member of all three.. I do spend the majority of time with the Dave's bunch.. I love them all. though.. and try to stay some what active..traveling and attending as the oppertunities go... I just love the ease of our site here.. picture ease/quality.. and many other aspects
I believe they should be allowed to be referenced... no other plant orgs. are restricted here the way ABADS and BGI are here.. It's childish... I'm sure the Dalalia folks at Daves can mention the Dahalia Orgs..
remember the revoluition won't be televised...
lets get this together.. and support a free and open Brug society..
infractions of decoreum. and polite interchange should be delt with ...surely..
the ones offending should be warned.. then removed..
come on.. lets get together to be brought as a group into the new eara of information exchange.. and out of the dark ages..
ohhhhhhhhhh you are talking about the one from buried treasures i bet? well i saw that one was looking for others to go in my moms memory garden good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Betty~~ Thanks for the info! It was just what I was hoping someone would suggest....can't wait to read it all these next couple weeks! And the web-sites.....don't know what they are but that's ok....the other info is great!! Thanks again!
Moretz~~The co-op I ordered thru is at the Co-op forum on the thread called "Buried Treasures HIbiscus, Mandevilla & Brug co-op" and is only open for ordering until 2-28!! I ordered one of each of the 6 Brugs being offered, as well as 5 of the tropical Hibiscus rosa-sinensis which are mind-blowingly, breath-takingly gorgeous!! I grew one called 'Rum-Runner' in 2007 and WOW was that a cool plant!! I was so excited they were offering them thru a co-op.....much, much cheaper than what I paid for mine at a nursery near my house! I think all 5 are less than the one IO bought at the nursery!! They also have some Mandevilla for sale.......
