Anyone doing your seed plantins for spring right now

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

The ones you start in the green house or back room?
Its cold here today and last year I started my tomatoes Feb. 15th.

Lavina

Augusta, GA(Zone 8a)

I don't start tomatoes until March 1, but English peas, onions and lettuce are up and running. Irish potatoes, spinach, carrots, beets are all in the ground. Cabbage, Cauliflower, and broccoli plants are going great in the cold frame.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I was supposed to have seed potatoes delivered last week and I just received a notice saying it will be another week before they get here. Grrrrrr
My cabbages, started last fall, are all doing well and are almost ready for cole slaw.

Raleigh, NC

Oh, man...I'm behind. I better hurry and catch up...granted, I'm a little further North like Lavina, but I'm still doing pruning and haven't done anything in the way of veges yet, except buy some seed. Every spring I say I'm going to be efficient, get it all going on time, but it never happens....

Columbia, SC

I hear 'ya, yotedog. I've decided gardening is great for those who enjoy guilt...

Kure Beach, NC(Zone 9a)

I started radishes, lettuce, leeks and turnips so far. My cabbage is doing great, but the lettuce I planted in the Fall bit the dust in all th cold.
When I get the leaks in the greenhouse roof fixed, I'll start tomatoes, etc.
Barb

Kannapolis, NC

I have planted in the ground shallots, bunching green onions, 2 different leaf lettuces and arugula. The arugula is already up. I have also already planted blueberries and raspberries, some in pots, and I have rhubarb planted in pots.

In an unheated sunroom I have sown 4 different tomatoes, some dill, chives, dahlias and agapanthus.

That is funny about your Early Girls; if you did forget I can associate with that. It is exactly the sort of thing I would do. :-)

Calendulas are winter flowers down here and will poop out by May. Do you have a longer bloom period for them?

It is way too late but I had some broccoli, spinach and savoy cabbage seeds so I threw them into some plugs. Maybe I'll get lucky. I also planted some castor beans, cassia and more nasturtiums since the cold got most of mine. They too will poop out by May.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

This is my first year with calendulas in SC. When I lived in Virginia I waited with the calendulas because they seem to grow so fast and would be ready for transplanting before it was safe .. considering it was a different zone, I guess I'll start them tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Well I'm sure I forgot cause all 4 of my cups with seeds in them are bare or they all signed a mass suicide pact and composted themselves cause I can't find any seeds rooting around with a pick.

LOL

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Well, I replanted the Early Girl and discovered why I couldn't find any in the cups .. apparently they are tiny because the seeds were pelleted. Judging from the number of seeds I had left, I'm sure I planted them in the first place.

Time will tell!

Augusta, GA(Zone 8a)

They are not that tiny, but several vendors are pushing pelleted tomato seeds this year, and you are not the only one experiencing germination problems with them.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Hmmm, interesting .. I'll see if I can find some more that aren't pelleted.
