I recently ran across this ad and would like some advise. If you could choose 2 hens out of the following breeds, which one would you choose?

These purebred Birds are 5 to 6 months old. Currently the following breeds are avalible. Rhode Island Reds,Americanas,Buff Orpingtons,Silver and Golden Wyandottes,Barr Rocks,Delawares,Black Austrolorps,Leghorns and Red and Black Sex Links. These birds are organic feed and raised and have been vaccinated. These are heavy Layers.

Price is 12 dollars per hen.

I'd chose 2 of each! LOL

Really, it's up to you.
but if it were me, I'd like the Ameracaunas.. sounds like a good price! I not only love the blue eggs.. they are good layers, and so sweet!

I have barred rocks so I'd choose the ameraucanas, but if I had ameraucanas now, I'd go with the barred rocks....

I think if I only had one breed to chose from I would choose the red sexlink, the second if there was that choice would be the delewares. Great egg and meat bird. The red sexlink can't be beat for eggs, and cold and hot hardiness. Hay

Oh no more Delawares for me! They are pigs.. LOL I couldn't keep them fed.... at least the ones I have/had.. they are mean to the others too. I couldn't even wait for them to get big enough to eat..

Different Strokes for Different Folks. :)

Red Sex links sure get good reviews.. I will have to try some! LOL I do love my RIRs.. They just started laying recently, and today I hit the jackpot.. HUGE egg.. LOL Made me feel sorry for the hen! LOL

Babies are fine, I moved them out to the tack room yesterday, they were starting to smell and keeping me up all night long.

Well I did it.... http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/956958/

We had Barred rocks a few years back and they were very good layers with a nice temperment. I like my BO's but I think the B.R's eggs were larger in size and more consistant.
