'Stinky' flowers!!

Ha! Ha!
Just have to tell you all about the 'paperwhite' bulbs I gave to a good friend.
Sitting in the living room Jan and hubby 'smelled' something unusual and strong!!
Yep! The paperwhites were in bloom....off they went to the porch !!!
Beautiful and easy to grow but smell is overpowering to many !!
She let me know and I had a good laugh !!!
Did give some to child care school and they blossomed but the flowers got picked by 'lil' fingers !!

My mom gave those once.As soon as I seen 'Stinky' flowers!! I knew which ones you were referring to....LOL.

I knew instantly too. I forced some and gave them to my mom. She reemed me out good saying she would never get that 'horrible smell' out of the house.

If I remember right they smell like Stale Horse Pee....LOL.But very pretty.

LOL, Great thread title. Mine went from the dining room table to...out the front door. They live on the front steps now.

I wonder why they get such a big 'hype' especially at Christmas and sell them in the kits??
Don't the companies know how malodoreous these smell??

Get a Paperwhite variety by the name of Inball. I had a pot on my desk and yes, you could smell it, but very faintly. When you come in the office or in the living room, you only could see them, but not smell them, unless you were above it with your nose..

I was interested in buying some, too, until I smelled one at the local nursery. Eeeeeeew!
Bleek, maybe someone developed the "Inball" for that very reason. I'll look for that next time, thanks for mentioning it!
