One week after seed planting in Bob's amazing seed kit

This photo is not very clear, it was extremely difficult to get a good closeup. This is a Black Krim? tomato seedling, only 1 week after the seed hit the coconut coir. Look closely at the size of the plant (maybe 1 inch tall with only 2 little cots) and then at how long that one root is. Absolutely incredible

That's why I use coir as a rooting medium. Coir has something, some property that promotes rooting. And not just any roots....always huge healthy ones. Great stuff.

Diana I grow Brugmansias avidly, which are propogated by rooting cuttings each fall. I had been buying Orchid Moss solely for rooting Brugs and then potting in Miracle Grow. I'd give anything if I'd known about the Coir sooner.

Geez........Ya'll keep this up and the plant kingdom will take over the whole world. I just stepped outside to walk the doggy, and I swear I could hear plant roots ripping and tearing through the coir. I think I heard some growling sounds too.......it is gettig scary!

jaywhacker: are you sure it isn't voles? I'm used to looking out for those buggers now. LOL

Darkmoondreamer: Yepper, that's a good size root alright, I will be taking pics of my maters in a few days as they are getting nice and healthy lately.
