The adventures of "Lucky" the Lizard

Clifton, TX(Zone 8a)

Just thought I would tell my story of how I came to own a Green Anole. I went to my mother's house in Arlington, Tx last September for a visit. She gave me a plant that was hanging outside on her front porch. I live about 15 miles from my mother in Grand Prairie so I hung it on the handle in the ceiling of my truck so that it would not crush the stems and leaves as it is a long, trailing plant. I drove about 4 miles down the road when suddenly, I noticed out of the corner of my eye, something jump out of the plant and land on my dash. I looked over and saw a green lizard sitting on my dash looking at me. I was in the middle lane on a 3 lane road and had cars on both sides of me. I almost had a wreck. I was freaking out hoping the thing would not jump on me. I managed to pull over into a parking lot and opened both doors of the truck & tried to shoo the thing out. It wasn't budging. My mom had also given me a 2 gallon water jug to keep my change in so I grabbed it and put it in front of the lizards face and forced it in with a piece of paper I had. After it was in the jug, I put a napkin in the top of the jug and got back in the truck to go home. After arriving at home, I hung the plant that Mom gave me on my back patio, opened the jug and shook the lizard out & back on the plant. The next day, the lizard was gone. At the end of October, I brought all my plants in for the winter. I have a large Ivy in a rectangular pot and several other plants. I put all the plants except the Ivy in the kitchen for the winter. The Ivy, I put in my computer room. Three weeks ago, I bought a bare root Josephs coat rose bush from home depot for my brother in law. I put the rose (in the plastic bag from Home Depot) on the floor in my computer room. Since I hadn't seen my brother in law yet and the rose was starting to grow, I decided to take it to my river property near Waco (about a two hour drive). My husband picked up the bag with the rose and put it in the bed of the truck and we drove down to Waco. When we got there, I picked up the rose and took it in the house so I could help unload the rest of the stuff. I set the bag on the couch and immediately, I see this green thing jump off the rose onto my couch. Yep, you guessed it, the green lizard. Well, I quickly found a plastic container with a lid and scooped up the lizard into it and put the lid on. My husband went outside and gathered some leaves to put in the container and punched holes in the top. The lizard stayed in there for 2 days and then we came back to Grand Prairie. We decided to give it a name so we named it "Lucky". Since the lizard obviously was living in the ivy, we decided to put it back there. So, now I have a green anole free roaming in my computer room. She stays mostly on the ivy or on the window. As soon as the weather gets warmer we will put her and the ivy back outside.
I know this was a long story but I just wanted to share it with someone. The picture is of Lucky on my window. Thanks for your time.
