I have no pride - I'm ignorant when it comes to this topic. I have the same feeling when I walk past the tool section in Home Depot - I believe it's called LOST...LOL I know some of you are already saying..."Umm Chantell, THIS is NOT the tree forum or citrus...Hello?" Yes, I realize that BUT - ya'll are my buds and many of you down south have exp. with these. I know I had the Myer Lemon thread going but I need to have some input from ya'll on Dwarf Orange (and it's relatives) trees i.e. tastiest fruit, most fragrant blooms, easiest to grow and vendors you trust. Yes I also realize that some of this was covered in the Myer thread but bottom line I'm too dang lazy to go ISO that info in that looooonnnnnngggg thread. Forgive please?
Citrus for Dummies SMS (save my sanity)
Gal? Are you moving or your kids? Just how much room do you have inside for all these tropicals? (Inquiring minds want to know before they burst, LOL) You do realize that they take very large pots? I had already sold my lime and may sell my regular Meyers as well since the "Improved keeps going..or will you sell the kiddies?
JLMBO
LOL - actually my son is moving in w/his dad and I'm taking over his little ole bdrm w/the south facing windows...I'm sure he'll thank me for it!!! Hmmmm HOW big of a pot, btw? Will 5 gal suffice?
Ground floor I hope? Right next to yours or will you be sleeping on the floor inhaling?
Pot depends on the size of course. I think I remember hearing that 5 was the minimum, mine got so top heavy and then with fruit added that I had to add a trellis thingy to prop it up. You may try what I didn't --keeping it pruned!
ROTFLOL - oh you're a funny girl ^_^ Actually right down a short hall...hmmm, laying on the floor inhaling...actually I kinda like that idea..I could set the whole room up in a Zen type of style...using a waterfall thingie to make humidity etc. Ohhhh I've got all kinds of ideas now
You guys are crazy LOL.
Chantell I have my citrus in pots, mind you they are all less than 3 years old, not sure what I'm going to do when they outgrow their pots. Right now my Improved Meyer Lemon is full with about 100 blooms, the scent is wonderful. I also found a Persian Lime yesterday at Lowes for $20, best part was it had about 50 buds on it also. I have a sweet lemon too but it's very small and is a very slow grower, I can't wait for that one to grow up as I remember sweet lemons as a child. My Kaffir lime tree is quite large, taller than me but its also in a pot and doing find....it's just bringing them in when there's a freeze warning is the problem...they are mighty heavy!
