I went out to Brazos Bend State Park today and took hundreds of photos. The Roseate Spoonbills were there but far off. This is the best I could get with the big 500mm lens.

Wow! I've never seen them in the wild. I'm putting Brazos Bend in my ... what do they call it??bucket list? I hope to live in Texas 5 years from now and with it's various climates, it really seems to be a bird Mecca.

I just googled it and I will be there! It isn't too far south from FIL's house in Dayton! I'm thinking now about a great day-trip when we haul our plants down there in prep. for our move to Korea.
Awesome birds. I was lucky to see some in the wild in the Tampa / St.Pete area of Florida. Seeing them was a highlight of my trip. Congratulations on your sighting.
