Hydrangea - Trim it or Leave it?

So what do you do with Hydrandea? This is my first year growing it and I don't know if I am supposed to cut it back or let it go?

Leave it! Some of the newer varieties like Endless Summer bloom on old and new wood, but earlier ones only bloom on last year's growth, so if you prune, you loose blooms. In your pic, it appears you have growth buds on the tips, so they aren't dead, just dormant.

Hope this helps.
