Resin my friend, can you help me with this one. I like the photo so I want to try to ID this bird.
Thanks,
Chris
Here's one for you Resin..........or anyone?
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Resin
Just wondering... how can one be certain it's a blue-gray when the undertail is not visible? I always have trouble with these, as they are very flitty and it's often hard to catch a view of the undertail.
Resin, you are the best!
I did wonder about Black-tailed, but the photo shows a very broad white edge to the tail, which Blue-gray has but Black-tailed doesn't (only a narrow white edge). Also, Sugar Land is out of range for Black-tailed, which in TX only occurs along / close to the Rio Grande (perhaps a risky assumption, but I'm assuming the pic was taken 'at home' rather than on a trip away!).

Yes, the photo was taken withing about 25 miles of Sugar Land at Brazos Bend State Park.
Thanks!
