I know precious nothing about begonias but I have a few that ended up in my possession and I think it is now time for me to find out what they are.
The one on this picture grows maybe about 1/2 of the year, it seems to fall apart in late fall then grows out of the pot again in the spring. It is in a shady area that gets maybe 1 hour direct sunlight in the summer.
Begonia ID #1:
From the look of the flower and your description of the growth cycle I'd say you have a tuberous begonia. "Nonstop" is a popular brand, bred by German breeder Benary. For some reason tuberous begonias are favored by far in the UK, maybe the rest of Europe also, I'm not sure. Follow the link to see what you are doing right.

Thanks Wandygirl, I'm still hoping tho to get a more specific response. I understand however that often it is not possible,
this is definetly a tuberous begonia, probably NON Stop Mocha red. Let it be dry and cool in the winter, after it falls apart
thanks. It is amazing to get a response to such an old posting.
I moved the pot to a different spot this year and it brought out a single leaf then it died. we'll see next spring if it is still alive.
